“ And I also wanted to let you know that your service has been terrific. I was very skeptical about $2.99 hosting but [friends name] insisted it was really good hosting. So I moved one domain at first and now have all 6 with you. ”

FAQs
vs. Competitors
How does an SSL certificate work?
An SSL certificate ensures safe, easy,
and convenient Internet shopping. Once an Internet user enters a
secure area — by entering credit card information, e-mail address,
or other personal data, for example — the shopping site's SSL certificate
enables the browser and Web server to build a secure, encrypted
connection. The SSL "handshake" process, which establishes the secure
session, takes place discreetly behind the scene without interrupting
the consumer's shopping experience. A "padlock" icon in the browser's
status bar and the "https://" prefix in the URL are the only visible
indications of a secure session in progress.
Why does a WebhostGIANT Certificate
cost considerably less than other providers?
WebhostGIANT has direct access to
the IdAuthority, the largest commercial directory on the web. WebhostGIANT
can therefore expediate the validation of an application. This efficient
and highly effective validation method ensures we can issue a Certificate
at a greatly reduced cost as reflected through our guaranteed lowest
price in the industry as well as maintain a level of validation
far superior to the methods employed by other SSL providers.
Will WebhostGIANT Certificates work
correctly with my customer's browsers?
In order for your customer's browser
to seamlessly use a WebhostGIANT Certificate, they must trust our
'Root Certificate'. Our Root (provided by CyberTrust) is trusted
by over 99.3% of all current browsers, comprising all Internet Explorer
5.01 and above, Netscape 4.51 and above, Mozilla Firefox 1.0 and
above, Opera 6.1 and above, Apple Safari 1.0 and above, and AOL
5 and above. This browser compatibility makes WebhostGIANT as trusted
as Verisign and Thawte.
I am not a company, can I apply for
a Certificate?
Yes, anyone wishing to provide a confidential
and secure link between server and customer's browser can apply
for a certificate.
Can I apply for a certificate for a
domain and use it for other domains on my server?
No. Each certificate only secures
and works with that domain name it was issued for. If you wish to
secure multiple domains, please ask about our Wild Card Certificates.
Do you offer Wildcard Certificates?
Yes. We offer two versions of wildcard
certificates. We offer the Domain Secure Wildcard Certificate for
$199 per year and we have the Business Secure wildcard Certificate
for $349 per year. The differences between Domain Secure and Business
Secure are the same as the standard SSL certificates we offer.
What is a Wildcard Certificate?
This product is an SSL certificate
that conveniently allows you to secure multiple subdomains on one
domain using *.domain.com pattern for the common name. The * is
a special symbol that stands for one or more characters. This means
that you can secure many different sub domains with one Wildcard
Certificate, such as www.domain.com, customer.domain.com, supplier.domain.com
or anything.domain.com etc.
